Too valuable to have just a simple city tour…

There are 320 hectares of living historical monuments built in the 16th and 17th century by the finest artists of the world with the original architectonical plans of Michael Angelo, Vigñola, Herrera, Bramante, Guerra, Bermini, Becerra, etc. So much value that Quito won its “heritage” title against Rome!

Quito is not just spectacular buildings and plazas built on top of Inca walls; FlashTravel will show you golden baroque pulpits carved by Juan Bautista Menacho which are the finest of the 17th century and no one can compete with the golden altarpieces by Bernardo de Legarda in the 18th century. Fine Moorish paneling surrounded with miraculous statuary carved on wood by Diego de Robles Caspicara and Father Carlos in the models of the Spanish masters Martinez Montañez and Pedro de Mena are bounded with paintings of the most famous American artists like Miguel de Santiago, Nicolas Goríbar and Pedro Bedón based on the engravings of Rubens and lessons of Francisco de Zurbarán and Bernardo Bitti.

Father Juan de Velasco the greatest Jesuit historian wrote in his 18th century book Modern History of Quito Kingdom :” Just a few have become renowned and of great name. Among the old ones one took the aclamations of all, in the painting Miguel de Santiago pal of Ticiano and Micheal Angelo, whose works were seen with admiration in Rome as he matched Velasquez and exceeded Murillo. In more recent times Andrés Moral ... I knew several Indians and mestisos, leaders in Art; but no one like Bernardo de Legarda, monstrous talent and ability for everything. Its monumental staruary I dare to say that can be put without fear in competition with the rarest of Europe”.
